AQUA party’s mission to assist and support our youth locally and globally through organizations such as The Ali Forney Center and The Water Project. Every child, no matter what their socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, race or religion may be, deserves the right to clean water, shelter and education.
OUR CURRENT CHARITIES
THE WATER PROJECT
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing reliable water projects to communities in sub-Saharan Africa who suffer needlessly from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation. For ten years, we have been helping communities gain access to clean, safe water by providing training, expertise and financial support for water project construction through our staff and implementing partners.
The water crisis is real. It’s affecting women, children, families and farmers. Women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa are spending hours a day fetching dirty water which leads to illness and disease, robbing entire communities of their futures.
We want to help our neighbors and we know you do too. When you support The Water Project, you help bring clean water through new wells, rehabbed wells, sand dams, rainwater catchment systems and/or spring protections to schools, medical clinics and villages.
Each year we've helped a new community move from needless suffering to opportunities to thrive. Here are the communities:
2010 - St. Veronica Weonia Primary School - 500 served
2011 - Mnazio-Moja Community Water Kiosk - 500 served
2013 - Marko Spring - 143 served
2014 - Wuumisyo Wa Miangeni - 1045 served
2015 - Kikumini Primary School RWH - 239 served
2016 - Bukhaywa Secondary School - served over 500, plus, we had some money left over to pitch in to help another community: Felix Kisengo Spring, home to about 85 people
2017 - Emukhalari Primary School - a school of 550 students
2018 - Imbale Primary School - a school of 271 students AND Eshilibo Primary School - serving an additional 835!
2021 - Muroni Primary School - It serves 1,293 students and 24 teachers and staff.
THE ALI FORNEY CENTER
The Ali Forney Center’s mission is to protect LGBTQ youths from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently.
Since AFC's launch in 2002 with just six beds in a church basement, the organization has grown to become the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ homeless youths in the country—assisting nearly 1,400 youths per year through a 24-hour Drop-In Center which provides over 70,000 meals annually, medical and mental health services through an on-site clinic, anda scattered site housing program.
Our mission is to provide LGBTQ young people housing and a continuum of supportive services to help them thrive and prepare them for independent living.
AFC has been heralded for our full continuum of care approach to services for LGBTQ homeless youth. AFC's founder, Carl Siciliano, was named a White House Champion of Change by President Obama citing the wide recognition AFC's programs have received for their quality and innovation.
